Microdosing and the Road to Personal Growth: A Journey of Time, Reflection, and Healing
Hello, everyone. I’m Dr. Dave, and welcome again to Microdose U. This week’s post is a bit different from the usual content. I want to take a moment to share something personal, something that’s been deeply affecting me, but I also know it’ll help me connect with you in a more meaningful way. It’s a time for vulnerability and honesty, and I hope you’ll be with me every step of the way as I take you through this.
For the past five or six weeks, I’ve been on the road, alone. My wife joined me for the first two weeks, and we traveled across the country, visiting places like Florida, Maryland, and New York. But after she flew back home, it’s been just me, my car, and an incredible journey that I could never have predicted. This trip has been eye-opening in ways I didn’t expect. Not about the sights I’ve seen or the places I’ve visited, but more about the journey inside myself. You see, this trip, in many ways, is a reflection of my entire life, and it’s been shaped by the microdosing experience.
In my life, I’ve always been driven by schedules, by time. I was a student for many years, then a professional speaker, and I was always bound by a clock, a calendar, deadlines, meetings, and the endless list of “must-dos.” I thought that was the way to live. But this road trip—being away from it all, without a schedule to keep—has really opened my eyes to something that I’ve struggled with for years: the illusion of time. And as I’ve spent more time with myself, with my thoughts, and with my feelings, I’ve started to realize how much time has governed my life.
It’s not just a matter of physically being in a different place; it’s about not being bound to anyone or anything. The freedom to just be is something that feels so good, and in a way, it feels like healing. Microdosing mushrooms has unlocked this side of me that’s always been there, but I was too distracted to notice. Time, as we perceive it, feels like a construct, a way of organizing and managing life—but when you start to question it, you realize that it’s not always what it seems.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the perception of time since starting this trip. As I continue with my own healing and exploration, I’ve been reflecting on how much of our lives are dictated by the ticking clock and the pressures that come with it. The mushrooms, in many ways, have given me a new lens through which I can see not just time, but also how I view my life and my purpose. It’s like waking up to a new perspective—one that’s full of possibilities, growth, and, yes, healing.
But the journey hasn’t been without challenges. Just the other day, I received some devastating news: the Facebook group for Microdose U, which I’ve been running for years, was deactivated by Facebook. Without notice, the community that I spent so much time building was gone. Thousands of members who had relied on that group to share, ask questions, and support one another—gone. It was a blow, not just to me, but to all of you who have come to rely on that space. I won’t lie: I felt like my heart had been ripped out.
I know that the reason for the removal was that Facebook flagged the group for talking about “drugs,” and while I fully understand that social media platforms have their guidelines, it doesn’t make it any easier. What we were discussing wasn’t about illicit drugs. We weren’t talking about substances like heroin or cocaine—things that can destroy lives. No, we were talking about plant medicines—psilocybin and LSD, which have been proven to be not just safe, but also incredibly healing. These medicines have helped so many of us, and they’ve helped me.
If you’ve been following my journey, you know how much I’ve shared with you about my experiences with microdosing and how much it’s changed my life. Four years ago, I started microdosing to help manage my anxiety and depression, and it has completely transformed my mental health. So many people have come to me since then, asking about how they can experience the same healing, and to see a platform that we’ve built—full of support, information, and hope—disappear in an instant was heartbreaking. But that’s why I’m here now, reaching out to you.
As you can imagine, I’m at a crossroads. I’ve been asked countless times if I’ll start the Facebook group over again. Could I do that? Technically, yes, but honestly, I don’t have the energy to start from scratch. I’ve been building something more meaningful in a place where the rules allow us to speak freely, without fear of censorship, and where the community can continue to grow without restrictions.
That place is my Patreon. I’ve been building a small but strong community on Patreon, and it’s been amazing. The connection we have there is real, and it’s the kind of place where people feel safe, supported, and valued. It’s not just a subscription—it’s a family. We do live meetings, answer your questions in real-time, and give you access to personalized guidance that can truly make a difference in your healing journey.
So, I’m asking you for a favor today—if you were part of the Facebook group, if you’ve relied on that space, please join me on Patreon. Not only will you be joining a community that is supportive and welcoming, but you’ll also ensure that you have access to a space that will always be there for you—no matter what happens on social media. On Patreon, we’re building something that can’t be taken away from us. It’s a place where we can talk openly about our experiences, share our journeys, and support one another without fear of being shut down.
If you’re hesitant or unsure, I completely understand. But I can promise you this: you won’t regret it. For only $12.50 a month, you’ll get access to our growing community, live meetings, and the kind of support that makes all the difference on this journey. It’s not just about the cost; it’s about creating something lasting—a space where you can continue your healing, where you can ask questions, and where you’ll be valued as part of something bigger than yourself.
I know it’s a tough time. I know how much it hurts to lose something you’ve built, but I also know that this is the beginning of something new. Something better. We’re not stopping here. And I want you to be part of that. I want you to join us, to be part of the movement, and to keep healing and growing with us.
Please join us on Patreon. Click the link in the show notes or visit my website, microdoseseu.com, and find all the information you need. I truly appreciate your support, and I’m excited to continue this journey with you.
