I Am Pausing Microdosing Mushrooms

Pausing My Microdosing Journey: A New Chapter Begins

Hey friends, it’s Dr. Dave here, and I have a bit of a personal update to share with you today. After almost exactly four years of microdosing magic mushrooms, I’ve decided to take a pause from psilocybin. I know this may come as a surprise, especially since I’ve been such a passionate advocate for the benefits of microdosing and the incredible impact it’s had on my life. But let me walk you through why I’m making this choice and why it might just be part of my next growth phase.

My Journey with Magic Mushrooms

As you know, I started microdosing magic mushrooms because I was dealing with some serious mental health challenges, mainly anxiety and depression. The thought of finding a natural way to support my mental health, to feel better without relying on traditional medications, felt like a possibility I couldn’t ignore. The results have honestly been life-changing. I’ve experienced an immense shift in my mood, perspective, and overall sense of well-being. It’s hard to explain the depth of transformation that I’ve gone through, but if you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve likely heard me speak about the immense benefits I’ve reaped over the past four years. It’s been a journey I never expected but one I am incredibly grateful for.

During these years, I’ve guided many of you through your own journeys with microdosing, and we’ve experienced some profound breakthroughs together. I’ve seen the impact firsthand on countless lives, whether it’s helped calm anxiety, improve focus, increase creativity, or even facilitate deeper spiritual connections. Psilocybin has absolutely been a gift in my life.

So Why Pause Now?

Well, the decision to pause microdosing mushrooms is not one I make lightly. And it doesn’t come from a place of disillusionment or losing faith in psychedelics. Far from it. I still wholeheartedly believe in the healing power of magic mushrooms, and I will always be a supporter of their use. But I’ve recently had the opportunity to explore something new, and after experimenting with it for the past few weeks, I feel it might be worth exploring further. That something is LSD.

I’ve been microdosing LSD for about six weeks now, and to be honest, I’m noticing some profound differences. The effects seem to last longer, and I only need to microdose once a week. This might not sound like much, but when you’re used to a schedule of multiple doses per week with psilocybin, this shift is significant. The experience with LSD has felt smoother, and there’s a certain clarity and focus I feel that’s a little different from what I experienced with psilocybin. I can’t say for sure yet if LSD is better, but I can say that it has been promising—for me, at least.

Does This Mean I’ve Given Up on Magic Mushrooms?

Not at all. I’m still incredibly passionate about the benefits of psilocybin, and I want to be clear here: I’m not recommending that everyone switch over to LSD. In fact, if you’re new to microdosing or just getting started, I still think magic mushrooms are the way to go. They’ve changed my life in ways I never thought possible, and they’ve done the same for so many of you. So, no, my decision to pause mushrooms doesn’t mean that I no longer believe in their power. Far from it.

What About the People Who’ve Been Microdosing Mushrooms? Should You Switch to LSD?

If you’ve been microdosing mushrooms and you’re considering switching to LSD, my answer is simple: It’s a personal choice. If you’re getting good results with psilocybin, I’d encourage you to stick with it for now. The results I’ve seen with mushrooms over the years have been truly transformational, and I wouldn’t want to suggest that you need to switch if what you’re doing is working.

I’m approaching this pause from a place of fairness. I don’t want to mix the two substances together at the same time and confuse the effects. I want to be sure that if I’m recommending something new, I’m able to do so with confidence. My intention is to go all in with one substance at a time, see what works best for me, and then report back to you. If you’re feeling better with mushrooms, keep at it! And when I have more clarity on my LSD experience, I’ll let you know if it’s something that might make sense for you.

Can LSD Help the Same Mental Health Issues?

That’s one of the biggest questions I’ve received since announcing my pause from mushrooms. From what I’ve experienced so far, yes, I believe LSD can help with the same mental health challenges that psilocybin has been shown to alleviate. My sense is that it could even be better for some, especially in the areas of mental clarity, emotional regulation, and overall stability. Of course, this is all still new for me, so I don’t want to make any sweeping recommendations just yet. But based on my own experience and the research I’ve done, I’m optimistic.

How Safe Is LSD Compared to Magic Mushrooms?

This is a big question for a lot of people, and I totally understand the concern. I know that LSD has a reputation from the past, and some of the stigma around psychedelics can make us nervous. But, I want to reassure you that both LSD and psilocybin are incredibly safe when used responsibly. In fact, when we compare the two to substances like alcohol or tobacco, mushrooms and LSD are a far safer choice.

LSD, like magic mushrooms, is not addictive, and it is very hard to overdose on. That being said, because it is measured in micrograms rather than milligrams, there’s a bit more room for error when dosing, so it’s something I’m continuing to work on and refine. But when used carefully, LSD has an excellent safety profile. If you’re considering trying LSD, just remember that it’s crucial to source it responsibly, dose carefully, and understand what you’re getting into.

Why Am I Pausing Mushrooms for LSD?

I think it’s important to mention that while mushrooms have been transformative for me, it’s just time for me to explore something new. I want to give myself the space to fully experience LSD, to see if it might be a better fit for my current needs. I think the key here is that this is a journey of personal growth and discovery. I’m always seeking to learn more, to evolve, and to understand myself on a deeper level. And for me, right now, LSD seems like the next step in that journey.

Final Thoughts on the Pause

I’ll be sure to keep you updated on how things progress with LSD, but for now, I encourage you to continue with your journey, whatever path that may be. Whether you’re using mushrooms, LSD, or something else entirely, remember that the goal is growth and healing. The tools are here to help us, but it’s up to us to use them mindfully and responsibly.

I want to reiterate that my choice to pause mushrooms doesn’t diminish the powerful effects they’ve had on me and so many others. If you’re new to microdosing, I still recommend starting with psilocybin. It’s a wonderful place to begin your journey. If you’ve been microdosing for a while, feel free to explore what works best for you, whether that’s sticking with mushrooms or trying something new.

I’m grateful to have you all along on this journey with me. I’m learning every day, and I can’t wait to share more with you as I continue to explore and grow. Until next time, take care of yourselves. Remember, it’s okay to pause and take a step back when you need to. I’m always here, and I care about your growth.
