I Ate Magic Mushrooms And Did Acupuncture

Hey there, friends! Dr. Dave here, and I’ve got something really interesting to share with you today. It’s one of those unique experiences that blends both the old and new—acupuncture and microdosing magic mushrooms. I’ve been exploring the combination of these two practices lately, and let me tell you, the results have been pretty fascinating. I’ve got some insights that I think will resonate with you, especially if you’re on your own journey of healing and self-improvement.

But first, let me backtrack a bit and give you some context for how this all started.

The Backstory: A Painful Foot and a New Discovery

So, I’ve been dealing with a pretty annoying issue for the past three to four months—plantar fasciitis in my right foot. If you’re not familiar, it’s a painful inflammation of the fascia, usually around the heel and into the arch of the foot. It started off mild but quickly escalated into something that made even walking difficult.

Now, I’ve tried everything—pain medication, topical treatments, physical therapy, specialized arches, roller balls—you name it, I’ve done it. But nothing was really giving me relief. The pain was persistent, and it started to really interfere with my day-to-day life.

One day, I was talking to my neighbor, and he recommended that I try acupuncture. I’ve had acupuncture before, but I wasn’t exactly sold on it. He insisted that I give this particular therapist a try. So, I made an appointment and went in with a bit of skepticism but with an open mind.

Acupuncture: My First Session

When I walked into the acupuncture clinic, the first thing that struck me was how comfortable everything felt. They sat me in a plush lounge chair that reclined way back. It was so comfy that I could’ve easily fallen asleep. Then, my therapist, Laura, started placing acupuncture needles in various parts of my body.

I expected the needles to go directly into my foot, where the pain was, but no—she placed them not just in my foot but in my scalp, ear, wrist, and arm too. About 10 needles in total, some of which I barely felt. After she was done, I settled into the chair for about 45 minutes, with some calming music in the background. It was a pretty peaceful experience, but honestly, I didn’t feel much difference after the first session.

The Turning Point: Microdosing and Acupuncture

The next time I went in for my acupuncture session, I decided to try something a little different. I took a bite of my magic mushroom chocolate bar before I went in. Why not? I was curious if the microdosing could play a role in my experience with acupuncture.

And let me tell you—the difference was pretty noticeable.

For one, I didn’t feel the needles as much as I did the first time. I was in a much more relaxed state, and the process felt smoother. I was able to focus on the calming music and just let myself relax. I left the appointment feeling surprisingly good, but it wasn’t until after my third and fourth sessions that I started to notice something even more significant: my foot pain started improving.

The plantar fasciitis, which had been giving me so much trouble, seemed to be getting better. I couldn’t help but wonder: could the combination of acupuncture and microdosing be creating some kind of synergistic effect?

What Is Synergy? Could Microdosing and Acupuncture Be Working Together?

It’s easy to wonder, What’s the deal with microdosing and acupuncture working together? I’m no expert in acupuncture, but based on my experience, I think there’s something here.

For those of you who are familiar with microdosing, you know it promotes neuroplasticity. Essentially, it helps your brain form new connections and pathways, making it more adaptable to treatments and experiences. So, when I combined microdosing with acupuncture, I was essentially priming my body to be more receptive to the healing effects of acupuncture.

Here’s the kicker—both microdosing and acupuncture are known to help with inflammation. Microdosing has anti-inflammatory effects, and acupuncture increases blood circulation and releases endorphins that naturally reduce pain and promote healing. When you combine these two, it seems like they’re working together to tackle inflammation from different angles.

The Role of Pain Perception and Emotional Well-being

There’s also something interesting about how microdosing affects pain perception. When I microdose, I feel like I’m in a much more open and relaxed state. This is important because when you’re in a state of relaxation, your body is much more receptive to healing, whether that’s from acupuncture or any other treatment.

In my case, when the acupuncture needles were being inserted, I didn’t feel them as much when I had microdosed beforehand. Without the microdose, I remember the pain being almost overwhelming at times. But with the microdose, my mind and body were more at ease, and I could settle into the experience much more comfortably.

Acupuncture itself helps calm the nervous system, so combining it with microdosing could amplify those benefits. The result? A deeper, more effective healing experience.

Heightened Mind-Body Awareness

Another key benefit of microdosing is that it enhances mind-body awareness. When you’re more in tune with your body, you’re able to notice subtle changes that might otherwise go unnoticed. This increased awareness can help you integrate the healing effects of acupuncture more effectively, potentially speeding up the process.

After a few more acupuncture sessions while microdosing, I really started to feel a shift. My foot pain was reducing, and I was noticing improvements in my overall well-being. I believe this heightened awareness played a big role in that process.
